Welcome to the latest Excavation incarnation. Here’s the spiel:

Rehash is the Dallas-based DJ duo consisting of High-C and Wilson. To some acclaim, the two tried their hands at music production, pressing up a series of vinyl releases on their RM-Sound imprint (which music journalists liked to label as “downtempo.” Common variations included the prefix “blazing”). To promote these early releases rehashmedia.com was born in early January of 2001. In addition to listing release details and artist bios the site also featured a forum called “Excavation,” where the two would post reviews and audio clips of their favorite vintage vinyl finds (remember all those shitty Real Audio files?).

Fast forward 11+ years and you’ll find the boys to be up to the same old tricks and although the downtempo days are long gone, the obsessive-compulsive record collecting tendencies are still very much in place. So have a look around and check back for weekly updates (yes, weekly). Who knows, you may even learn something (and if not, at least you’ll score some cool, free MP3s out of the deal).
