Gospel Movements – Whe Can Make It Alright (Hosanna)

Hosanna, a Dallas-based label quickly becoming a Rehash Excavation favorite, continues to astound with this recently procured release by Fort Worth’s own Gospel Movement. Not being (or really even pretending to be) an avid fan of gospel music, I am often disappointed by the majority of the local holy rollin’ 45s that cross my path. I’m after the music, not the message and want my soul without solicitation so I admit I can be a little hard to please. But every so often I encounter a disc that meets all my criteria and instantly restores my faith (for lack of a better word) in the genre. My Hosanna introduction came in the form of the Relatives “Don’t Let Me Fall” 45 and was later followed by 45s by the Eminent Twilight and Hammon Singers. This find is just another testament to the label’s consistency and only intensifies my curiosity as to what other Hosanna goodies are out there waiting to be discovered.

PS… sorry bout the snap, crackle and pop. I swear it gets easier on the ears as the song progresses.
