LC Stiggers – People Get Ready (Friendship)
I want to say this is from Dallas. In fact I’m 90% sure. I do know it turns up locally, for some people more than others. A local elder statesman of the record game slid this copy my way because… well, he must’ve felt sorry for me, writing me off as being an easily amused underling. And he’s right; I admit I’m easy to please. Cover a Curtis Mayfield-penned classic and lay down some abnormally chunky drums and I’m all in. Can’t help it, it’s my upbringing. Also endearing is LC’s pronunciation of “ticket.” Does anyone else hear “Chicken?”
